ANNUAL SURVEY
We would like everyone who lives in our Children's Centre area to complete our survey to help us decide what we do over the next twelve months. Every completed copy of the survey by 10th February will be entered into a draw for a £30 Sainsburys voucher. SURVEY
We’re now going into our fifth year and we really want every family in the area to know what we can offer so please make sure you talk about us with your friends and ask them to complete the survey. either drop it into the Centre or email to childrenscentre@st-johns-knaphill.surrey.sch.uk
FEEDBACK: It is important to us to be able to show that families who use our centre do enjoy what we provide and if any of our services have made any difference to their lives - in any way at all! If anything has changed in your lives whether it's what you eat, your safety, your social circle and general wellbeing - we'd love to know about it. If you could use the 'contact us' box on the website to send us a quick note - we'd really appreciate it!

We do have a number of organisations we have worked with from the start such as the Health services and Jobcentreplus but we are also working with lots of other groups which gives us access to all types of information and training. We also now have a Parent’s group who suggest activities they would like the centre to run and discuss ways of us being more involved with the community. Whilst we are open every day for advice and information we will sometimes have specialists attending and will have details here and at the centre. If there is anyone you would like to see please let us know. We are also planning to start a variety of learning sessions. We will be running a free crèche and will have details on the website.
Our Wednesday morning Parent and Toddler group is now much more relaxed. This is the only activity in the week that is restricted to families living in our area – you can find details of the area on our website – all other groups are open to all. The reason we have had to do this is because we had over 100 people arrive on two weeks in May 2010. We had to find a way of ensuring everyone was safe and comfortable but also making sure that families who live close by and particularly without transport, could come to the session without having to book. You can find out if your address is in this Children’s Centres area by clicking here and looking for your postcode and the map here will shows our area. For details of the other children’s centres in Woking – please click here. If you are unsure which Children’s Centre area you live in you can ring any of the centres and they will let you know.
Your Sanctuary: Surrey Women's Aid have changed their name to Your Sanctuary but of course they still offer all the advice and support as before. We are collecting donations for goods to go into emergency boxes given out by Surrey Womens Aid in the Woking area. Items such as toiletries, baby goods, dried and canned foods are ideal. If you are able to spare an item please drop them into us or bring along to any of our sessions.
We have added a maternity clothes exchange to our popular children's clothes exchange. You do not need to bring items in order to take clothes from our donated items. So if you have any maternity items you no longer need please bring them to one of our sessions and maybe look for baby clothes at the same time. Our building work is finished - we now have our sign to let people know exactly where we are and are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to appear more visible. We all want the centre to provide the best mix for all our parents so please email or phone us, or give us your suggestions at our sessions.
